Jeffrey
L. Tate, M.D.
Jeffrey L. Tate, MD is
a board-certified physician specializing in the treatment of Overweight,
Clinical Depression, Anxiety, Headaches, and Attention Deficit
Disorder. He has over 20 years' experience in medical practice.
His major professional goals are to combine excellence in medical
evaluation and treatment with excellence in "customer service."
He believes in the "customer
approach to patient-hood," meaning that you and he are partners
in improving your health and functioning. You are always treated
with respect and courtesy; as an important Person, not as a “case”
or an “appointment.” You are a partner in making decisions about
treatment. Together, you and he work to improve your health and
to achieve your goals in life.
Patient-satisfaction surveys
(repeated every 5 weeks) show nearly 100% patient satisfaction
with Dr. Tate's services. He is one of the few physicians in the
world with the confidence to offer a full money-back satisfaction
guarantee.
More generally, Dr. Tate
specializes in treating persons who suffer from biochemical imbalances
that affect their mental and physical functioning. Medical research
shows that many conditions that have been attributed to problems
of "willpower" or personality are actually due to biochemical
imbalances. This is an area in which most physicians have little
knowledge. As Dr. Tate says, "I want to help free patients
from the unnecessary frustration and guilt of struggling against
their own biology."
Dr. Tate is clinical assistant
professor at the University of Arkansas school of medicine. He
is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
(where he scored in the upper 10% of candidates). He is also certified
by the American Psychoanalytic Association. He is an active member
of ASBP (the premiere organization for weight-loss treatment physicians)
and of NAASO (the premiere scientific society for researchers
studying Overweight). He has served on the Arkansas Blue Cross/Blue
Shield Advisory Committee. He is a member of Mensa.
He has been in private
practice in Rogers since 1993. Until 2002 he also was medical
director of two units at the Washington Regional Medical Center.
From 1983 through 1992
Dr. Tate practiced in Houston, Texas, where he was on the faculty
of the Baylor School of Medicine and of the University of Texas
Medical School. While in Houston, he completed 7 years of training
at the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute (including his
own 5-year personal psychoanalysis). Upon graduation, he was immediately
appointed to the teaching faculty of the Institute.
Dr. Tate graduated from
Emory University School of Medicine in the upper one-third of
his class. He then completed a 4-year residency at Emory, and
was selected as Chief Resident his 4th year in recognition of
his clinical and administrative skills.
When not seeing patients
or studying medicine, Dr. Tate can usually be found on the golf
course, at the poker table, or reading philosophy.
Ellen, his wife of 30 years,
is a 2nd grade teacher. Together they have two adult children,
Andrew and Elizabeth.
