Stop Food Cravings with Safe Medications!

Lose 15% of Your Weight in the next 4 Months!

Keep Excess Fat Off Life-long!

  • Do food cravings ruin your diet every time?
  • Do you feel out of control of your weight and your eating?
  • Are you tired of riding the “diet-regain yo-yo” up and down for years?
  • Are you ready for effective medical treatment to lose excess body fat?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, please read this report carefully. You have in your hands the most current medical information about how to lose excess body fat forever.

You probably recognize that food cravings are the reason that you’re overweight. You know that there are certain foods that you simply cannot quit overeating. Whether it’s sweets, or chips, or pasta, or bread, or potatoes, or Mexican food—or whatever—you try stay away from it, but you can’t for very long.

You literally feel out of control of your eating. You may go on a diet, and at first you do pretty well. But within a few days you feel increasing urges to eat your favorite food—not just to eat it, but to overeat it. Why? What’s going on?

The answer is that you are addicted to certain foods just as if you were heavily addicted to cigarettes. Recent medical research shows that, for those of us with a weight problem, certain foods create the same chemical dependency in the brain that cocaine does. When you go too long without your food “fix” those areas in the brain generate irresistible cravings. You can try to resist for a while, but eventually everyone gives in and overeats the forbidden foods.

Those of us with the strongest predisposition to overweight are probably born pre-wired to become addicted to food. Research shows that overweight persons have fewer receptors for the normal brain biochemical dopamine and this deficiency may make it easier to become addicted to certain foods.

The picture at left shows images of two brains. The small dark areas inside the bright white lines are dopamine receptors. The brain on the left is from a normal weight person. The brain on the right is from a seriously overweight person. The overweight person has far fewer dopamine receptors than the normal weight person. Overweight persons may be overeating, in part, due to lower levels of dopamine receptors.

As with any other type of addiction, food cravings are usually worsened by stress or emotional upset. You’ve probably noticed that when you’re upset, lonely, bored or angry you want more “comfort foods”—your favorite carbs, of course. Depression and anxiety lead to more carb cravings for most of us.

Some of us have spells of such intense carb cravings that we go on a binge. By this I mean eating a huge quantity of food in a quick, uncontrolled manner: a whole package of cookies, a whole cake, a whole bag of chips, etc. Others of us wake up in the middle of the night with uncontrollable carb cravings. We find ourselves in the kitchen at 2 a.m. eating our favorite carbs.

Because food cravings are ultimately irresistible, simply trying to tough it out or to use willpower to overcome them is futile. It won’t work. The only reasonable solution is to use safe mediations that will stop the food cravings where they start—in the brain.

The safe, modern medications that we have today typically stop all cravings for excess food within 48 hours. They stop stress eating, eating due to depression and anxiety, binge eating, and nighttime eating, too. And the medications usually keep on working indefinitely.

When I mention using medications to help lose weight, you may have frightening thoughts of “diet pills” that cause medical problems or even addiction. You may remember the problems with “phen-fen” back in the mid-90s, or the problem with amphetamine diet pills in the 1950s and 60s. You’re probably aware of the recent ban on ephedra. You may have had disappointing experiences with Xenical or Meridia. You may have lost weight with diet pills, only to regain when the pills were stopped. So naturally, you’re skeptical about taking medication to help lose weight.
The good news is that we now have very safe medications to stop food cravings with virtually no side-effects in the vast majority of patients. My years of experience, and the many years of experience of my colleagues around the world attest to the safety of these medications. I keep up with the research in this area very carefully, and I am not aware of even one medical paper that has documented significant medical problems with these medications.

Of course, there’s no need to lose weight if you’re going to regain it. I know that overweight isn’t like a sore throat that we treat and then forget; it’s like arthritis: we get it under control and then we work lifelong to keep it under good control. Fortunately, these medications can be safely used as-needed lifelong to help maintain the weight you lose.

Once we have your food cravings stopped with medications, you can follow any type of weight-loss diet easily. I’m flexible and will work with your diet preference; however, the diet that I have seen the best results with (and the one I follow myself) is the low-carbohydrate diet. This diet produces the fastest weight loss, with no hunger and no medical problems.

At least 4 medical studies in the past few years show that a low-carb diet results in faster weight loss, more weight loss, and improved cholesterols and triglycerides. Fears about ketones, osteoporosis or kidney problems on low-carb diets have been shown to be unwarranted.

Low-carb diets work best, probably, because they lower your insulin level the best. Insulin causes body fat storage: the more insulin you make, the more fat you store. A low-carb diet causes the least increase in insulin levels.

With all the new low-carb foods and restaurants today, it’s easy to follow a low-carb diet for the rest of your life. I’ve been on my low-carb diet since 1998, and it’s an easy way of life.

Of course, exercise has a place in weight loss—but perhaps not what you’d expect. We’ve learned that the best use of exercise is to lower insulin. Remember, lowering insulin reduces stored body fat. The type of exercise that lowers insulin the best is strength training.

By strength training we mean weight lifting, or using the weight machines at a gym, or using a BowFlex-type machine, or simply using the elastic band exercisers you can buy at Wal-Mart.

The really good news is that strength training takes just 30 minutes, twice a week. With that schedule you’ll add more muscle protein for a full 2 years, lowering your insulin and further reducing your fat storage. Combined with a low-carb nutrition program, strength training will help you lose the most excess body fat.

Aerobic exercise (jogging, walking, running, swimming, treadmills, Nordic Tracks, stair-steppers, dance, etc.) are good for your heart and lungs; but they don’t do much to help you lose excess body fat (unless you run several miles per day). So switch to strength training twice a week for the most effective weight-loss exercise.

My overweight treatment program starts with a private visit between you and me. We’ll review your weight history, your pattern of overeating, past dieting efforts and your general medical history. We’ll review your new low-carb nutrition plan. At the end of that visit we should be able to start you on the most appropriate medications to stop your food cravings within 48 hours.

Within one week of starting my program you’ll notice significant weight loss. Within 3 weeks your clothes will start feeling loose. When you come back to see me one month after the first visit, you’ll tell me that you’re amazed at how easy it is to follow this program and lose weight. You’ll tell me that food cravings are gone; that it’s easy to avoid the fattening foods that you could never resist; that you’re never hungry—and that the medications are working with no side-effects. You’ll feel wonderful that you’re on your way to achieving—and maintaining—your weight-loss goal.

Within 6 weeks people will start asking you what you’re doing to lose so much weight. By then, any hip and knee pains will be much better; gastric reflux will be almost gone; you’ll be sleeping better and have more energy. By then, if you’re on medications for high blood pressure, reflux or diabetes we’ll probably start reducing them.

Within the first 4 months, you’ll probably lose 15% of your starting weight, as shown in this chart:

Starting Weight
Typical weight loss in first 4 months
180 pounds
27 pounds
200 pounds
30 pounds
225 pounds
33 pounds
250 pounds
37 pounds
275 pounds
40 pounds
300 pounds
45 pounds
325 pounds
48 pounds

After the first 4 months, you can expect to lose about 5 pounds per month until you reach your goal weight. At that point the program doesn’t abandon you. We’ll switch to maintenance treatment to make sure that you don’t ever regain the weight you’ve lost. You and I will always meet at least twice a year to monitor your progress. And will meet immediately anytime you regain 5 pounds that you can’t get off within 4 weeks. We’ll use medications as-needed to keep your weight where you want it.

You’ll notice that I have an entirely new approach to the treatment of overweight. I understand that it is a chronic disorder that will require lifelong monitoring. I don’t expect you to “be perfect” in following any diet. I know that life has ups and downs and that stresses or temptations occur that increase carb cravings for a short while. That’s ok. We stay with the long-term plan, make any short-term treatment adjustments needed and focus on success. My attitude is always positive; no scolding or blame ever.

Many senior citizens are doing very well in my program. As long as they have no unstable heart disease, they can take the medications very safely and with good results. I treat many patients with diabetes in my program, too. They also are able to take the medications and lose weight well. Often, we’re able to start reducing their diabetes medications in the first few weeks of treatment.

Please read these testimonials from my patients; their names are real and are used with permission:

Laura Boysen, Rogers, AR: “What benefits? Where do I start? I got my personality back! I’m much more confident, and in three months I’ve gone from a size 20-22 to a 14!! I NEVER thought I could do this, and I have with the help of Tate Healthcare.”

Toni Carter, Rogers, AR: “The [Tate Healthcare Specialists] clinic is very calm and attention has been paid to privacy. I like the fact that there are no “exam rooms.” I see my doctor regularly and monitor my own health so I don’t need more “exams.”

“Treatment has been a journey. I’ve learned so much about food and emotional needs. I also have e-mailed Dr. Tate and gotten an immediate reply.”

“I can walk and run 2 miles now. I am wearing smaller clothes and during the holidays my husband and I went dancing. I am setting a good example for my daughter.

Marilyn J. Franklin, Bella Vista, AR: “I needed to lose weight to relieve the stress on my joints following hip replacement. I’ve been overweight all of my adult life. Many diet plans left me gaining any weight lost plus a few pounds more. All diets left me miserable, emotionally upset, hungry & craving all the foods I couldn’t have on those diets.

“Everyone at the clinic [Tate Healthcare Specialists] were very nice, helpful and more than willing to discuss all my concerns & questions. Dr. Tate has always been an excellent sounding board for me and is a very likeable & understanding man. Never have I had to endure shame as at Weight Watchers or TOPS. I have appreciated the intelligent exchange of ideas and consideration.

“[Treatment has been] “Very good! The “dieting” has been so much more satisfying for me than any other. I have always loved meat, cheese, and butter—all the things I can now eat! My medication helps too and minor adjustments have been done with good results.

“[I now have] a positive attitude toward losing weight. My general health has improved much to the wonderment of my family doctor.
“I believe this is the best way to lose weight for me or anybody else. One does not need to constantly dwell on foods & what can be eaten, as most diets require special planning, measuring & coordination—thus you are always thinking about food, what you cannot eat and knowing you will end up eating food you didn’t want in the first place!

Donna Fairchild, Rogers, AR: “[Tate Healthcare] made me feel like I was very important to them. I left there knowing I had gone to the right place to help me get back on track.

“[Medication has had] no side effects—I would not even know I was taking anything.

“ . . . I feel 100% better—I have learned to eat what I’m supposed to. Stomach problems are gone. I have dropped 2 sizes in clothing in 2 months.

“[Dr. Tate] has helped me to be accountable to the doctor. He’s been there and knows what we need. I always feel he has my best interest at heart. He wants me to succeed. I truly believe his is the safest, easiest & life-long life style. I don’t have to worry about eating anywhere—there’s always something there I can eat.”

Sherri Dotson, Lowell, AR: “It’s a very positive experience, from the office staff to Dr. Tate. Positive and encouraging! I’ve lost inches, weight and gained self-esteem. I have the energy now to play with my 3 year old & it’s like my husband & I are on a 2nd honeymoon. Whatever it costs, it’s worth it. The quick response to phone calls & emails demonstrates the commitment that Dr. Tate has made to his patients.”

Crystal Nelson, Elkins, AR: “I have already lost 37 lbs and 6 pant sizes, my husband has remarked on how much better I look, my energy has shot way up! I used to want to watch TV or relax and take naps all throughout the day, but now I find myself gardening, playing basketball with the neighbors, playing volleyball, going places without “stressing out” over how I look. Just leading a normal life—not an obese life.

You’ve heard of fly-by-night “diet pill doctors;” I am not one of them. I am a well-trained specialist in the medical treatment of overweight.

I’m a board-certified (upper 10% of scores) physician with 25 years’ experience. My special training is in the brain chemistry related to mood, anxiety, addictions, overweight and food cravings. I’m a graduate of Emory Medical School (upper 1/3 of class), and have served on the faculty of three medical schools. I was chosen Chief Resident at Emory in recognition of outstanding clinical and administrative skills.

I’m also trained in the psychology of food addictions: After 7 years of training at the Houston-Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute, I was certified in psychoanalysis by the American Psychoanalytic Association.

I’m a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians—the only national organization of physicians who specialize in treating overweight. I’m also a member of NAASO, the top national organization of researchers into the causes and treatments of overweight.

I’ve treated many hundreds of overweight persons of all ages and situations. I know what works and what doesn’t. I can tailor a treatment program that will fit your unique personality and life circumstances. I know how to cope with the many big and little obstacles that could derail your weight-loss program as the months go by.

If you’re like most of my patients, you’ve already been up and down on the diet-regain yo-yo many times. You’re probably near your maximum weight right now. Clothes are too tight; or you’re only wearing clothes with elastic waistbands. You hate to get dressed in the mornings; you hate the way you look. It affects your social confidence—and your sexual confidence. Without treatment, your future is to have more of the same, only worse.

You’re probably worried about health problems caused by overweight: diabetes, heart disease, cancers, arthritis. You know that these can take years off your life, and ruin the enjoyment of life.

For all these reasons, you’d like to lose weight but you’re skeptical that anything can really help long-term. After all, you’ve lost and regained before. Why go to the trouble and expense again? I understand, and that’s why I offer you a 100% money-back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied. My program is so successful that I can easily make that guarantee.

My program requires only a monthly office visit; not weekly visits like most programs. After you get to your goal weight, we meet just twice a year to make sure you never regain. My program is very competitively priced—and certainly much cheaper than letting overweight go untreated. There’s no special food or supplements to buy from me (unlike many other programs).

Why waste your time and effort with other weight-loss programs that won’t work long-term? The average Weight Watchers client keeps off just 6 pounds over 2 years according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. By coming to see me, you’ll get the most advanced medical treatment of overweight, from the physician in northwest Arkansas with the most experience in treating this disorder.

Don’t delay getting help. Overweight always gets worse with time, so act now. You can
